Driven by passion

I am Leon (He/Him). I am a bisexual transgender man. I graduated from Goldsmiths University in 2023. I worked in a hospice setting for 2 years before creating my private practice @queerarttherapist. I have supported children, young people and their families through complex emotional, relational and existential experiences. As a trans and queer practitioner, I bring an informed, compassionate perspective that honours identity, dignity and autonomy in art therapy. I have a passion for visual art and film‑making, maintaining an active art and videography practice. I am committed to culturally competent, trauma‑informed practice and psychologically safe spaces where diverse stories can be expressed and explored without judgment, with a nuanced understanding of the political and social rhetoric around LGBTQIA+ identities. Alongside my clinical work, I am passionate about social justice and advocate for equity. I remain dedicated to ongoing reflective practice, collaborative work with peers, and to using creativity as a tool for resistance, visibility and joy.

I offer art therapy that is queer- and trans-led, and culturally competent, intentionally centring your lived experiences, autonomy, and dignity, while I remain actively aware of the systemic power imbalances and intersectionality present in society. I will collaborate with you to co-create meaningful goals and work in a holistic, present, and non-pathologising way. My practice is integrative and trauma-informed, and I will ensure therapeutic spaces are consistently affirming of diverse gender identities and sexualities. I provide a range of different materials that can be used during sessions to help regulate and/or express emotions and experiences, offering these resources as an invitation rather than a demand. Clients choose how they would like to use the therapeutic space that is beneficial to their therapeutic needs.
